10 Outdoor and Beyond Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother's Day is just around the corner. I have asked some mothers I know what outdoor camping and hiking gifts they would appreciate for Mother’s Day. Here are the top ten of those ideas.

1.    Portable Neck Fan

Texas is hot! A portable neck fan can make a difference on a hot day. This fan provides 360-degree airflow for up to 24 hrs. It isn’t just for camping, this can be used while gardening, sitting at sporting events, and front porch sittin’. Either way, Mom will appreciate having this portable fan on those hot days.

2.    Aboron Folding Camp Cot

ABORON Folding Camping Cot comes with a cushioned mat. For any camper, it provides a more comfortable night's sleep. The cushion can be removed during warmer nights and for washing after a weekend camping trip. As I have gotten older, I can appreciate why this is on the list of the moms I spoke to. You can get a double for just under $120.

3.    Venture Pal Day Pak

Venture Pal lightweight hiking backpack daypack that packs down into itself. It has enough room to carry the essentials for a day of hiking. It has one main zipper and a compartmentalized main pocket. It also has a wet pocket. The wet pocket is large enough to hold a swimsuit and a small towel like the rainleaf micro fiber camp towel.

4.    Thermacell

The thermacell mosquito portable repeller can be attached directly to the day pack. It provides a 15’ bug-free zone. Its biggest limitations are high winds, and its repellent does not affect gnats or “no-see-ums”. So, you should always carry bug spray just in case. For sitting around in camp chairs or eating at the picnic table thermacells are very effective.

5.    Medella Naturals Deet Free Insect Repellent

On the days when the wind is keeping a ThermaCell from being effective Medella Naturals insect repellent is a proven repellent. It uses lemongrass essential oils with a hint of vanilla to repel all types of stinging and biting bugs. Kid and pet safe. I highly recommend adding it to the camping-themed Mother’s Day box.

6.    Kedsum Portable Shower

KEDSUM portable shower comes with a rechargeable battery. On a weekend trip having the ability to wash up at the end of the day can be refreshing. The kit comes with a submersible pump, battery with an on-and-off switch, hose, and shower head. You will need a reservoir i.e. 5-gallon buck as your water source and a shower enclosure. Just a word to the wise, if the water source is cold but the air is warm… draw your water early and let it come up to air temp.

7. 32 oz Tumbler

32 oz Tumbler. To keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. It’s a nice gift for any mom to enjoy outdoors while camping.

8.    Rechargeable Hand Warmer

Rechargeable hand warmers are a great gift idea. They are useful for camping and during the colder months of the year. This one will run for up to 18 hours. It can also be used as a battery bank to charge your phone and as an LED light.

9.    Multi-tool

Who doesn’t need a multi-tool while camping? This multi-tool is a 20 in 1 tool that will help her handle various task while camping.

10.       Nurture by Nature RELAX & CALM Spa Kit

This spa kit will help her feel refreshed after a long weekend roughing it. It screams a gift for mom. This spa kit includes lavender pillow mist, bath salts, a bath bomb, oat & honey soap, lavender & shea butter body scrub, and a mood booster candle. She will thank you for this one.

Most things on this list can be seen in everyday use either outdoors in the field or at home. That's why I think they make such great ideas.  Having said I think these are a supplement to the more traditional Mother’s Day gifts. So, be sure to grab her a ThermaCell but pair it with some chocolates or flowers. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Thanks for what you do!
